“To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.” (quote on quote)

individuality?

have you evr wondered why some ppl seem more original thn others?

when you think abt a person wht abt him/her tht first comes to your mind? Is it their personality or you find it difficult to see the real person beneath the skin.what abt this,if you think of that person, you'd automatically think of another person associated with him/her? so what does this mean? is it that teens(especially) are too busy trying to fit in that sometimes they lose their sense of individuality. Hmmm.there are some ppl i've come across in life where in a short while i can really see their individuality,be it by the way they speak or voice their opinions, there's integrity in their actions. they have a strong character and self esteem. these ppl mostly know themselves very well or continuosly try to be a better person from day to day. mature. very admirable.

honestly, there is a time or phase in growing up where ppl have a desire to belong to a certain group. or pack. or whatever u call it. the feeling is a natural human trait. ppl tend to feel safe if they have a certain sense of belonging. even though it means refraining from being totally who they are and doing what they like. ppl like to put othr ppl in stereotypes..as if we all belong in tiny different boxes with colourful labels plastered on..'the jerks','the jocks','the socialites','nerds','the hotties' ,'the popular crowd','the rich kids','the misfits','the loners',..so on and so forth. and an interesting self help book i read once(thanks to lala) mentioned that ppl who like to talk about others and bring other ppl down is actlly because this helps to improve their self esteem and the bad traits they see in others are actlly their own traits..thats why they find it easier to see the bad in others but not themselves..but ist it funny that tearing up othr ppl would improve ur self esteem? haha. anywy.let me give a situation..if the ppl you are closest to or hang with a lot happen to detest a certain someone, well regardless of the reason, most probably you would be apt to also dislike that person..well of course, this does not stand for evrybody.THAT,would be a stereotype indeed :P

winston churchhill once said,

"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life."

Theodore H. White:

To go against the dominant thinking of your friends, of most of the people you see every day, is perhaps the most difficult act of heroism you can perform.
