individuality?

have you evr wondered why some ppl seem more original thn others?

when you think abt a person wht abt him/her tht first comes to your mind? Is it their personality or you find it difficult to see the real person beneath the skin.what abt this,if you think of that person, you'd automatically think of another person associated with him/her? so what does this mean? is it that teens(especially) are too busy trying to fit in that sometimes they lose their sense of individuality. Hmmm.there are some ppl i've come across in life where in a short while i can really see their individuality,be it by the way they speak or voice their opinions, there's integrity in their actions. they have a strong character and self esteem. these ppl mostly know themselves very well or continuosly try to be a better person from day to day. mature. very admirable.

honestly, there is a time or phase in growing up where ppl have a desire to belong to a certain group. or pack. or whatever u call it. the feeling is a natural human trait. ppl tend to feel safe if they have a certain sense of belonging. even though it means refraining from being totally who they are and doing what they like. ppl like to put othr ppl in stereotypes..as if we all belong in tiny different boxes with colourful labels plastered on..'the jerks','the jocks','the socialites','nerds','the hotties' ,'the popular crowd','the rich kids','the misfits','the loners',..so on and so forth. and an interesting self help book i read once(thanks to lala) mentioned that ppl who like to talk about others and bring other ppl down is actlly because this helps to improve their self esteem and the bad traits they see in others are actlly their own traits..thats why they find it easier to see the bad in others but not themselves..but ist it funny that tearing up othr ppl would improve ur self esteem? haha. anywy.let me give a situation..if the ppl you are closest to or hang with a lot happen to detest a certain someone, well regardless of the reason, most probably you would be apt to also dislike that person..well of course, this does not stand for evrybody.THAT,would be a stereotype indeed :P

"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life."

Theodore H. White:

To go against the dominant thinking of your friends, of most of the people you see every day, is perhaps the most difficult act of heroism you can perform.

the reading habit

'twilight' by stephanie meyer

latest read.

its a good book!:)

im in love with the vampire.haha.doing it again,i guess.when i read,my whole being goes into the stuf im reading and i simple delve into it too mch.put me on a busy commuter or a room full of crazy girls and i can go on reading and shut out the world if i want to.othr ppl do that too but i overdo it a tad too mch smtimes.its an amusing and useful trick though.

a thought or two.

democracy. a friend's opinion regarding freedom of speech gnerally made me think a bit. are we truly as democratic as we like to think we are..? if that is the case, why do media filter open critisms of govrnmnt. why is it that if a paper does not support the govt it is repressed, and made hard to posess by the common ppl. and mostly organisations who are accepted or devoid of any anti gvrnmnt idealisms are given sponsorships whilst the latter shunned, oppressed. why do gvrnmnt have power to meddle in the parliament system of the country. if the answr is no,these two are not linked in the slightest, surely we intelligent ppl can see that it is not fully transparent...not as we would like it to be. why arent our ppl as educated as in developed countries? why are there so much corruption, and are we truly unable to stop it. actually what are the main problem or issues that we need to tackle for the betterment of future generations..the mindset,definitely..are we focusing on too mch entertainmnt, lacking in educating our young minds? maybe. an ovrdose of AF? *grins* . A glance at a small yet very respected neighbouring country sees its leaders with impressive portfolios..intellects in their choosen field and holding degrees from profound institutions... harvard,MIT,oxford, with first class honours....while where are we heading to? out of space using russian technology? and yes..we could do a lot of good to get bttr cctvs to at last catch one high profile crook to satisfy the public..
